Job Description

The Coordinator, High Performance Indoor will share in a range of critical programs related to Girls’ Indoor High Performance.  These include athlete tryouts, positional depth charts, summer program planning and implementation (including HP National Teams) and the National High Performance Coaches’ Clinic.  The position will include event preparation and attendance, data input and processing, athlete evaluations and depth charts and full responsibility for a share of Girls’ summer HP Programs.  This position requires excellent organization, communication, planning and coordination.  It requires the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of program constituencies.  The position will report directly to the Director, High Performance Indoor National Programs of USA Volleyball.  The position is located in the Colorado Springs office and will require substantial travel, particularly February through April and the month of July and will include some weekends. 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Assist in scheduling, staffing and implementation of assigned HP athlete tryouts.

  • Enter and process tryout evaluations and athlete statistics.

  • Organize athlete evaluations and maintain athlete depth charts.

  • Administer program selections, invitations and registrations for all programs levels.

  • Plan, coordinate and administer assigned summer programs and annual Holiday Camp.

  • Serve as lead staffer in the coordination of the annual High Performance Coaches’ Clinic.

  • Assist in coach selection and hiring for assigned summer programs and Holiday Camp.

  • Oversee and manage one female USA HP National Team.

  • Serve as primary point of communication for athlete, coach and family inquiries for assigned programs.

  • Travel to and attend assigned programs (tryouts, summer programs, Holiday Camp).

  • Assist in maintaining HP portion of the USAV website, particularly for assigned programs.

  • Process and transmit athlete evaluations for assigned summer programs.

  • Annual planning for all above activities.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Four-year college degree in Sport Administration or related degree (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience with talent evaluation and comprehensive understanding of volleyball principles.

  • Experience with coaching or managing volleyball programs preferred.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening.


Starting Salary

$ 36,300 - Commensurate with experience

Head Coach, Men’s Sitting National Team - USA Volleyball (Edmond, OK)

Job Description

The Head Coach, Men’s Sitting National Team is a regular full-time position reporting directly to the Director, High Performance Sitting Programs. The position oversees all aspects of the Men’s National Sitting Team Program. Extended hours may be required to include nights and weekends. This position is located in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Travel outside of Oklahoma will be required.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Direct the Men’s National Sitting Team Program.

  • Recruit, evaluate, and select athletes into the Men’s National Team Program and Pipeline.

  • Make final determinations of athletes to represent the United States in National Team Events.

  • Prepare and manage the Men’s National Team budget with the HP Sitting Program Director.

  • Participate in the strategic planning process for Sitting Programs.

  • Select, train and evaluate Team’s assistant coaches, technology personnel and support staff.

  • Coordinate all Men’s National Team competitions and camps.

  • Plan and develop, in consultation with HP Sitting Program Director, an annual competitive schedule for the Men’s National Team.

  • Coordinate elite player selection and development with Coordinator, Sitting Teams Programs and A2 coaches.

  • Consult on selections for Elite Coaches Development Program.

  • Assist with general team/program management responsibilities.

  • Train male and female athletes in the resident and distance training programs and maintain training files on each athlete.
  • Oversee an evaluation and tracking program for high performance athletes and coaches.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.



  • Bachelor degree required Sports Administration, Coaching or related field.

  • Minimum seven (7) years coaching at the elite junior, collegiate, national or international level or the equivalent in competition and sport management.  Work with Paralympic programs desirable.

  • Minimum three (3) years as a head coach leading two or more coaches, or equivalent supervisory experience.

  • Minimum of CAP I certification preferred and willingness to pursue additional levels.

  • Proven ability to promote sport performance, experience with DataVolley Software.

  • Demonstrated leadership of athletes and staff.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Must be able to successfully pass USAV background screening.
