Job Description

The Indoor HP Winter/Spring Internship at USA Volleyball is available to college students - primarily those pursuing a Sports Management degree, as well as recent graduates.  Students must either be receiving college credits for their participation in this internship, or have recently graduated with a four-year degree in Sports Management or related field.

The duties of this positions will center on the planning, logistics and implementation of key 2017 High Performance programs, including High Performance National Coaches’ Clinic, 2017 USA HP athlete tryouts and USA Women’s National Team Tryout.  The interns will gain a strong understanding of the preparation necessary for a successful, multi-event sport season. The position will report directly to the Director, USAV High Performance Indoor Programs.  The position is located in the Colorado Springs office and will run approximately from January through the middle of May of 2017.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Complete one major planning project addressing future growth and directions in High Performance and present project results at end of internship.
  • Assist with preparation and logistics for Boys’ and Girls’ HP tryouts.

  • Assist with preparation, logistics and implementation for annual HP Coaches’ Clinic.

  • Serve as prime liaison and on-site coordinator for teams participating at the HP Coaches’ Clinic.

  • Assist with preparation, logistics and implementation for annual USA Women’s National Team Tryout.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working toward, or recent graduate with a four-year college degree in Sports Administration or related field.
  • Excellent work ethic.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Must pass a USAV background screening. 

 Starting Salary:

$ 9.00/hour
