Job Description

The Director, E-Learning organizes and directs the activities and operations of all online learning for USA Volleyball (USAV).  The Director collaborates with all (internal and external) stakeholders, representing online learning and instructional technology interests.  The Director shall manage the department staff; oversee the budget; and develop policies, procedures and support systems to assist E-Learning projects of all departments.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Oversee collaborative development, execution and implementation of USAV’s E-Learning strategy for Officials’ Development, Coaching Education, and all other arenas

  • Working with senior management, develop USAV’s long-term E-Learning strategy

  • Lead in the development and deployment of officials custom curricula

  • Work with staff, officials’ consultants, and various members of the officials’ commissions to create and maintain overall functionality and user interface of USAV Academy

  • Provide subject matter expertise for curricula to include: Instructional design; Photography, video, and graphics; Voice overs; Asset management; and Quality control.

  • Produce officiating training materials for delivery online and in USAV Academy to include online officials’ exams, tests, quizzes, and clinics

  • Maintain website material to include VolleyballRefTraining (VRT) media resources and blog

  • Develop and implement monetization strategies for VRT

  • Facilitate system integration to support VRT clinic and or event registrations

  • Coordinate with Regional Volleyball Associations and third party providers

  • Other duties and projects as assigned


  •  BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent or combination of education and work experience
  • Five years of experience in online/blended programming ensuring academic quality and innovative program development.

  • Five years of experience in design and implementation of online learning courses to include Instructional technology applications, software and training techniques.

  • Demonstrated project management experience; designation is a plus.

  • National level volleyball officiating experience, experience in multiple disciplines and multiple rule sets is a plus

  • Regional Volleyball Association or other USAV Affiliate Leadership experience is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USA Volleyball background screening

Starting Salary:

  • $58,600- Commensurate with experience
