USA Volleyball (USAV) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sports of volleyball, beach volleyball, and sitting volleyball in the United States and is recognized as such by the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB), the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and the World ParaVolley.  USAV has over 300,000 registered members and supports athletes, coaches, officials, members and fans at every level and every discipline of the sport.

USAV is a 501(c)(3) organization with an operating budget in excess of $25M and approximately 75 staff and coaches in four offices (National Office in Colorado Springs, CO; Beach Operations in Torrance, CA; National Team Operations (Indoor) in Anaheim, CA; and Sitting Program in Edmond, OK). 

Job Description

The Assistant, Finance, is an entry-level position reporting directly to the Senior Director, Finance.  The position performs a variety of clerical and routine technical accounting duties involved in performing financial record keeping and reporting, which may involve confidential and sensitive materials.  The assistant will primarily be responsible for processing revenue and accounts receivable transactions as well as assisting the California offices of USA Volleyball with financial and accounting matters. The primary office location will be in Torrance, California with some work also performed on location in Anaheim, California.  Minimal travel outside of Southern California will be required.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Perform data entry including revenues, invoices, and month-end adjustments
  • Provide accounting support to USA Volleyball’s California offices
  • Assist in the conduct and analysis of budget reviews
  • Maintain state sales tax exemption status and prepare new filings as needed
  • Assist in reconciliation process for deposits, wires, credit card receipts, and basic GL accounts
  • Participate in implementing various financial policies & procedures
  • Support human resources department as requested
  • Provide support for assigned beach and indoor events
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business (experience can be substituted for degree)

  • Ability to compile facts and figures

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (reasoning)

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening

Desired Qualification

  • Volleyball experience or experience in the NGB or nonprofit industry is a plus

  • Working knowledge of NetSuite business/accounting software

 

Starting Salary:

$ 27,500 - Commensurate with experience

Job Description

The Graphic Designer will report directly to the Director of Communications & Creative Services and will be responsible for design work on websites (landing pages, infographics, etc.), social and digital media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, digital app, etc.), print publications, event and program logo design and various collateral projects.  Candidates seeking a mission-driven, energetic environment, eager to make a positive impact for USAV brand throughout the United States are encouraged to apply.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Create event logos, collateral, brochures, multimedia, and various print and digital publications 
  • Website design within a CMS tool, like SiteCore or similar
  • Design email marketing newsletters templates in ExactTarget or similar
  • Design marketing proposals and reports in PowerPoint or similar
  • Guide with consistent branding – look and feel – of the organization via style guide.
  • Submit printing bids with outside print vendors.

  • Experience in designing for various print and digital formats
  • Knowledge of brand hierarchies and standards implementation
  • Knowledge of Basecamp or other web-based project management software, a plus.
  • Experience creating event and program logos
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening

Job Description- Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer

USA Volleyball seeks a Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer (ATC) to work within the Sports Medicine and Performance Division of the National Teams Program.  USA Volleyball’s interdisciplinary medical and performance team provides an excellent work environment while demonstrating the comprehensive approach to athlete care.  The Seasonal ATC will be an integral member of this medical team and will report directly to the staff Certified Athletic Trainers. 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Work within the current sports medicine team to provide comprehensive medical care for all athletes

  • Work independently as the sole medical provider for non-traveling athletes while staff ATCs are away with the traveling teams

  • Monitor training sessions and assist with pre and post-practice preparation and therapy

  • Implement and/or carry out injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs

  • Assist with supervision of auxiliary support staff

  • Document daily injury evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times

  • Activate emergency protocols when necessary

  • Contribute to positive team culture

 

 Minimum Qualifications

  • NATA BOC certification required

  • 3-5 year minimum ATC experience

  • Proficient with manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques

  • Successful completion of background check

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening

 

Position Duration and Logistics: 

  • Start:  April 20th, 2015
  • End:  Oct 16th, 2015         
  • Hours:  7am-5pm with occasional weekend and evening obligations
  • Location:  National Teams Training Center in Anaheim CA

Starting Salary:

$21,000 - Commensurate with experience
