Job Description

The Assistant, Events is a regular full-time administrative position reporting to the Senior Manager, Events. The successful candidate will be an experienced administrative professional tasked with assisting in all aspects of support.  The position requires relocation to Colorado Springs and requires little to no travel.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Handle direct inquiries and/or requests.

  • Assist in processing all incoming event-related revenues.

  • Assist with preparing, packing, distributing or shipping all materials as required.

  • Produce correspondence, reports, presentations, spread sheets and special projects.

  • File and process event registrations (data entry) utilizing in-house system. 

  • Assist with personalizing, sending and tracking independent contractor agreements for events.

  • Assist in the verification process of registration and work with volleyball regions concerning their registrations/data.

  • Post Tournaments results on the website.

  • Provide in-office support for event department staff, specifically when staff is absent from the office conducting events.

  • Assist in overall conduct of the USA Volleyball domestic events, including all tasks as assigned by the Event Director.

  • Schedule, produce agenda and take/ minutes for department meetings.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Business administrative training, certification, or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to learn the USA Volleyball event registration system.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Access).

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening.

     

Starting Salary:

$ 12.60/hr. - Commensurate with experience

Job Description 

This is a regular part-time position (approximately 20hrs/week) responsible for assisting with the day to day administrative duties and general management of the Sitting Programs. Responsibilities include coordinating the logistics of National Team camps, assisting with the management of the resident program, assisting the HP Manager and working with USAV on-line accounting software. 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

Assist with the coordination of Men’s and Women’s National Team competitions.

  • Assist Head Coach with planning and developing an annual competitive schedule for the National Team.

  • Assist Head Coach with managing all aspects of logistical involvement in competitive matches and tournaments.

  • Assist with the incurrent of visas when necessary.

  • Assist with archiving, analyzing and use of stats and video from practices and competitions.

  • Assist with categorizing and filing stats and video.

  • Assist with analyzing and finding significant information in the statistical data.

Participate in the strategic planning process for Sitting Programs.

Assist with general HP management responsibilities.

  • Support personal and media appearance requirements.

  • Submit necessary reports to Men’s and Women’s Head Coach for necessary releases, web site updates and stories, news and magazine articles, and media publications.

  • Provide input and recommendations regarding office, gymnasium, media and other operational needs.

  • Facilitate the maintenance of team records (competitive results, individual statistics, photo and biographical materials, alumni list etc.).

  • Assist the HP Sitting Program Director in any matters including the management and operations of national teams.

  • Assist with compiling reports for UCO, USAV and USOC.

  • Process transactions using on-line accounting/budget program.

Coordinate and execute the logistics of National team camps and assist with logistics of A2 camps and other development programs.

Assist with all aspects of the resident program.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor degree is preferred in either Sports or Business Administration.

  • Experience in Coaching/Education or related field preferred.

  • Previous work with Volleyball and/or Paralympic programs desirable.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications especially Excel and Word.  

  • Demonstrated leadership of athletes and support staff.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening.

 

Starting Salary:

$ 12.60/hr - Commensurate with experience

Job Description

The Coordinator, High Performance (HP) Indoor coordinates essential activities, projects, tryouts, programs and support for the department as a whole. To include but not limited to: tryouts, depth charts, program planning and implementation, and events execution. The position acts as a direct point of contact for athletes and families, in addition to hosts, coaches and other event personnel. This positions answers non-routine correspondence requiring the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies. Proficiency is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Serve as lead staff in the coordination of assigned High Performance Tryouts, Tryouts and Programs.
  • Administer tryout, program and event registration, including building, troubleshooting and providing technical customer support, phone and electronic.

  • Provide technical and conceptual recommendations for system and process improvements.

  • Provides logistic support to include packing, shipping and organization of gear and equipment.

  • Program coordination to include scheduling, planning, travel to, staffing, execution, data compilation and analysis, and athlete evaluation. May include budget oversight.

  • Serve as primary point of communication for athlete, coach and family inquiries for assigned programs.

  • Independent Contractor and volunteer workforce supervision, including selection, assigning, contracting and oversight for assigned tryouts and/or programs.

  • Perform administrative task associated with the above and as assigned.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Business or Sport Administration or related degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience with talent evaluation and comprehensive understanding of volleyball principles.

  • Experience with coaching or managing volleyball programs.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening.

Desired Qualification

  • Masters’ Degree, Business or Sport Administration or related degree

  • Three to five years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience working with USOC/NGB/Region High Performance

 

Starting Salary:

$ 32,000 - Commensurate with experience
