Corporate Partnerships Department Overview

U.S. Soccer’s Corporate Partnerships Department is responsible for managing relationships with the organization’s commercial partners.  The Corporate Partnerships Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships, Events and Fan Services Departments to plan, execute and manage partner-related operational responsibilities around National Team games and events.

Primary Duties

The Corporate Partnerships Coordinator assists in managing all stages of the relationship between U.S. Soccer and current and potential commercial partners, including sponsors, technical partners and suppliers. This individual will assist in securing and renewing partners, develop and present onboarding materials and manage the day-to-day relationship. The coordinator, who must have an understanding of the industry and key categories, works closely with all other departments to plan, execute and measure programs to help partners maximize their relationship with U.S. Soccer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of expertise
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a similar position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent events through multi-tasking and managing priorities efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
  • Experience with Adobe suite or a similar program is preferred
  • A background in soccer and sports marketing is preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Department Overview

The graphic designer will help bring U.S. Soccer’s brand identity to life through visual storytelling. As the graphic designer, you will work with the brand director and social media teams on the design and production (concept through to execution) for creative concepts aligned with U.S. Soccer’s brand strategy.  The internship will offer integrated design experience that will expand your portfolio and provide a unique opportunity to help establish U.S. Soccer’s place in the global game. 

Primary Duties

  • Develop creative assets for U.S. Soccer and its partners in multiple mediums – social media, print collateral, event design, digital, etc.
  • Help convey U.S. Soccer’s visual identity in a consistent manner across multiple channels.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments and individuals to develop creative that demonstrates a strong sense of composition, layout and creativity within U.S. Soccer’s brand parameters.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in an agency, in-house creative department or currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university or an advertising portfolio program (must be at least junior year).
  • Strong, audience-focused design capabilities in both print and new media. Candidate must submit portfolio along with resume.
  • Ability to work 20-40 hours per week.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.
  • Ability to understand/follow creative direction and incorporate constructive feedback.
  • Understanding of how digital platforms are built (photography, video/animation, 3D rendering, and web experience) a plus
  • Good time management skills and ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Highly creative and willingness to contribute innovative ideas/thinking

Position Overview

The U.S. Soccer Federation is seeking a Major Gifts Officer (MGO), who will be responsible for generating significant philanthropic support for U.S. Soccer. The MGO will oversee the major gift program in the New York Metropolitan Area. This individual will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects (individuals and foundations) and participate in donor stewardship activities. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the MGO will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects capable of making a gift of $10,000+.

Primary Responsibilities

  • In consultation with the CAO, establish an annual operating plan, with measurable performance objectives, that is linked to U.S. Soccer’s fundraising goals.
  • Successfully manage a portfolio of major gift prospects to meet philanthropic goals for the region. Engage in activities that focus on donor-centered philanthropy to maximize potential gifts over the long-term.
  • Identify prospects and cultivate via in-person visits, telephone and email communication, and engagement opportunities.
  • Work in concert with the Development Department to organize and host special events.
  • Steward donors via a variety of communications and experiences, including attendance at U.S. Soccer events and FIFA World Cups
  • Serve as a key fundraising contact for the region; coordinate and implement special projects at the direction of the CAO and perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience cultivating major gifts from individual donors
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in prospect identification, relationship building, and solicitation and ability to manage a large number of activities simultaneously
  • Proven ability to create compelling gift proposals
  • Experience in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • Evidence of being adaptable to working with changing priorities
  • Professional experience working in a sophisticated development organization
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to articulate an organization’s vision, values and programs to donor prospects in an engaging, motivating, and compelling manner
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues
  • Resourceful and independent, yet able to work creatively, effectively, and collaboratively within an integrated, team-oriented fundraising environment
