Staff Accountant - US Lacrosse (Baltimore, MD)

Support the Finance department in all financial activities of the organization, including General Ledger Management, Payroll Management, and Accounts Receivables. In addition, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, assist with the annual budget and year end audit, identifying weaknesses in internal control policies and special projects. Occasional night/weekend work required to assist at US Lacrosse events.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end closing journal entries and analysis
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Maintain chart of accounts
Processes Bi-weekly Payroll.
Responsible for verifying and processing payment for voluntary payroll deductions, including retirement accounts and Health Savings Accounts.
Prepares Monthly Payroll Journal Entry, Quarterly payroll analyses, Year-end census reports, and other payroll related reports as needed.
Generates invoices from monthly Lacrosse Magazine Advertising Schedules, Sponsorship schedules and as needed by other departments and generate monthly statements
On a monthly basis, reconciles Aging Schedules and A/R sub-ledger accounts to the G/L.
Backup to Finance Associate, ensures all invoices are processed in a timely fashion and all payments are mailed in a timely fashion.
Perform pre and post-event counts for retail inventory and assist with bi-annual physical inventory count.
Periodically audits expenses making sure all invoices have been properly coded, authorized, and adhere to US Lacrosse policies.
Maintain fixed asset system
Maintains reconciliation of all project codes (Special Events, Nat’l Teams).
Reconciles all bank and investment reports and enters into G/L.
Monthly Travel expense reconciliations
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required, in Accounting preferred.
3-5 years of related experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Will experience prolonged sitting.
